My art is about
movement and energy coupled with paintings' artistic tradition.
I paint life inspired abstractions that emphasize colorful floating
compositions. Inspiration is found in the world around me and I use an
automatic painting process in the beginning stages of the work. The
materials activate my conscious and subconscious which guide my moves.
The painting evolves like a visual conversation as I make room for
unexpected results from the materials and look for meaningful
"mistakes."
The colorful compositions contain organic forms and strong linear
elements. They reflect contemporary concerns and succeed when the
viewer connects both intellectually and subconsciously. My goal is to
make captivating art that has depth, energy, clarity and integrity.
With open eyes, I practice making art daily, suspending the rules,
excited and fortunate to free my imagination. The curiosity of
following an idea keeps me at it, pursuing the new.
